About the role:
The Associate Director, Field Reimbursement & Payer Relations is responsible for operational management and oversight of field-based reimbursement and market access-related functions, payer relationships and commercial support functions within the United States. This individual will recruit, develop and manage a team of Regional Reimbursement Management staff, deliver timely reports to senior management staff relating to functional metrics and coordinate resources aligned to timely access to indicated technologies manufactured by Boston Scientific. This key role will further establish and maintain working relationships with national health plans, key IDN/ACO and HTA organizations within the U.S. ensuring timely education and engagement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Recruit, develop and manage a dedicated team of field-based regional reimbursement management staff.
- Anticipate customer requirements, coordinating internal/external resources necessary to support coding, coverage and reimbursement relating to Boston Scientific neuromodulation technologies.
- Develop working relationships with U.S. national and regional payers, coordinating engagements in partnership with Corporate HEMA staff; ensure timely information is delivered enabling timely review of technology-relevant data by payers, HTAs and integrated care delivery systems within the United States.
- Service as a primary point of contact for HEMA with commercial partners, including Sales, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Medical Affairs and others as needed.
- Serve as a key member of the HEMA Neuromodulation Leadership team, contributing to organizational design, Access Strategy and execution of functional objectives.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with coursework or degree in health economics, public health, health services research, health care administration or related discipline
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, working within the medical device, diagnostic or pharmaceutical market space.
- Knowledge of U.S. healthcare systems including health policy trends, reimbursement systems (inpatient/outpatient/physician/ASC), medical claims data and associated documentation and coding terms.
- Proven ability in working with a commercial organizations, ensuring timely engagement and customer support of internal and external customers.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite), including high level of competency in Excel
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced degree, post-secondary education, certification or significant experience in healthcare administration, public health, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience participating or leading a field-based Market Access team within the United States.
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively within a highly matrixed organization.
The anticipated annualized base pay range this full-time position working at this location will be from $132,600 to $251,900, plus variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements) and the value of core and optional employee benefits being offered at Boston Scientific (BSC), which can be reviewed at www.bscbenefitsconnect.com. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. BSC considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs. Actual compensation may be otherwise adjusted if the position is filled outside of the intended geographic location.
