We are seeking Remote Feeding Managers to join the Mowi Canada East Team in Harbour Breton, NL. If you are looking for an new and exciting career opportunity then this is the role for you! This is a permanent, full-time position with a shift schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Regional Saltwater Manger, this is a key position in maintaining the company’s high standards of feed management and fish welfare. In this role you will be responsible for the continuous, effective and efficient feed management of the farm sea sites. You will develop and implement a feed management plan, apply appropriate company feeding strategies, learn and understand fish nutrition, monitor fish behaviour and appearance, manage feed inventory and use modern feeding software and systems to remote feed maximizing fish growth and performance.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidates would be detail oriented and willing to work in a team environment with a passion for the industry.
- Related post-secondary education and/or experience
- Aquaculture related training and/or experience considered an asset
- Knowledge of feed system software considered an asset
- Excellent computer skills and ability to trouble shoot technical issues
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- A positive attitude with excellent communications skills
- Good critical thinking abilities, decision-making abilities and sound judgment
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and meet production demands
- Respect for the need for safe working practices and animal welfare
- Well-developed English verbal and written communication
- Flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job
- Willingness to participate in Mowi’s development and training opportunities
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
