Job purpose
Responsible for providing operation support, on day-to-day basis to ensure MOGC facilities equipment availability, reliability & optimization of cost / resources while facilitating smooth operations of the Gas Facilities to meet operational targets. Apply Plant optimization and operating window of gas network including process control.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Provide process support to all aspect of MOGC assigned blocks operation and ensure all asset are operated in safe and efficient manner as per the operating window and gas specifications.
- Continues process improvements study of Compressor Stations, GSS’s and pipelines operation to maintain the gas availability.
- Support & Optimize the gas capacity booking plan with the network capacity management.
- Support the gas-dispatching centre in pipeline management system configuration and enhancement.
- Support the gas-despatcher in operation training simulator.
- Evaluate Control Narrative Scheme and propose the optimum scheme based on different operation seniors.
- Review and enhance the operation procedures and operation philosophy.
- Enhance Process compliance with safety and quality standard.
- Enhance optimization (Flare, Energy, Fuel etc...).
- Coordinate with technical team for continues improvement and operation excellence.
- Participate in Risk Management, technical reviews, Design, HAZOP, Alarm rationalization etc...
- Reviewing MOC/FCP related to site before committee review.
- Coordinate with projects and engineering departments during the development of new projects.
- Represent operations in the debottlenecking and optimization studies.
- Fully involve in system interface advancements and integrations.
- Check and verify GSS control valve configuration/ PRT and setup as per process requirement and design
- Perform process simulation to optimize and enhance the existing configuration.
- Perform Debottlenecking study to enhance operation efficiency.

Education requirements
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, or related.
Language requirements
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)

- Sr. Engineer: 8+ of relevant experience in similar position for the Oil & Gas Industry.
Both:
- Experience in Oil & Gas Operation and Engineering.
- Adaptable and motivated general management strategist who relishes challenges.
- Knowledge of international related standards such as API/ASME
- Proven ability to perform in a technical role, possess good written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge in Procedures, Codes, Engineering Drawings (P&ID, PFD, PEFS, etc.)
- Skilled in gas operation, process control and Safeguarding system.
- Skilled in process simulation.
- Strong interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation, problem solving, decision making as well as leadership capacity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural sensitivity.
- Computer literate with expertise in MS Office.
- PI software/DCS/SCADA.
- Skilled in Process Safety Management.
- Skilled in Risk Management.
